“It is in our power to educate all the children of the world to become a little better as people, a little happier.”

-Dr. Suzuki

Happy children are those who do things that they do well.

Success breeds success. This motto is at the core of the Suzuki Method, which utilizes a technique known as Mother Tongue. Similarly to how we learned our first language, students will be immersed with music not only in the classroom, but also at home. Similar to language, students will begin with hearing then speaking music as part of their day to day interaction. Only after mastery of those techniques will they begin reading music. This method was developed through the studying of how humans develop mastery of their first, native, tongue.

Parents play one of the most important roles in the Suzuki Method as it is their responsibility to create a positive musical environment for the students to grow in. Just as how a young child learns their native language through constant exposure and positive reinforcement, the school too, will require that level of attention for music at home.

Because in order for the seeds to be successful, we need to take care of the things around the seeds.

In Da Capo Music School, teachers are required to get Suzuki Method certified to guarantee quality of each lesson.
