For all piano lessons, students are required to have access to a piano or keyboard for home practice.
The keyboard or piano must be full-sized, with 88 keys and fully weighted keys.
We recommend choosing an instrument that comes with full pedals.
1. Rental:
We’ve rented from San Mateo Piano quite a bit in the past and ended up purchasing through them afterwards. We’re not affiliated with them, but Bozkurt is a really good guy and easy to work with.
If you do decide to rent, they have a good selection of pianos available. You can text Bozkurt at 650-296-2678 and mention you’re from Da Capo Music.
2. Amazon:
Adjusted bench:
Of course, a real acoustic piano is always the best since the students will enjoy the "real instrument" and hear the genuine sound of the instrument. However, we do understand that purchasing an instrument is a big commitment. Therefore, we believe keyboards are sufficient for beginners learning the piano.
